Nugent Jonathan Primrose Yeah, Apple and Google would *love* for everyone to believe that installing apps from outside their markets is automatically dangerous. But if you think about it, that's the way we've been doing it on PC for decades. There was never a centralized marketplace there, and you had to use your brain to realize that installing, let's say, a Dropbox client from its official website is safe, while something that "downloads more RAM" from a generic ad-infested hellhole clearly isn't. Centralized app distribution is great, but don't try to pretend that the alternatives are inherently unsafe. Nini Exarchou It's not the same. Sideloading doesn't mean installing filthy software from dubious sources. Well, not always... Neither does monogamy save you from STDs Geez that's like saying it's best to accept an arranged marriage. No risk involved, your just selling yourself and surrender your freedom... Anjełł Mäy Idk I've been sideloading apps, using custom ROMs the whole time. Never got any malware. The thing is that we know how to protect our phones from it, and we know how to fix it if something goes wrong. Maybe, maybe, if you'd like to whoring like that, you should have the knowledge of the safety Youcef Aid We don't know the argument he is referring to, but what he said on its own didn't imply he means it never happens. Could just bran anecdotal "never happened to me, the risk seems pretty low". Wouldn't say that about STDs lol but getting APKs from reputable sources seems alright to me 2 Tanika Armstrong Apple apps also had malware before because their systems didn't detect it Get link Facebook X Pinterest Email Other Apps Comments
